225/365: A Lineman's Wife

When you're married to a lineman, you notice stuff like this... I like the composition.

  1. I like the composition too. Which lens did you use? and where did you have to stand to take this? Would love to hear all about it:)

    1. Thanks Olga! I had my 50mm... it's almost always on my camera, so just used that. I took it from the driver's seat of my car through the window! (obviously the car was in park, hehe). And I don't remember my exact settings, but I believe my aperture was f/18, ISO 200 and shutter speed... ?? I don't remember. Probably not too high considering how high the f/stop was.

  2. Thank you, Erin. I think I will use that lens more often. I coincidentally used it today at the farm because I wanted to try something different. Is that the lens you use more for your business?

    1. Yup! It's the only lens I use. I'm buying a 35mm next.

    1. I'm definitely used to it now. There are times the 50 is too tight, but I just ordered a 35mm (wahoo!). Next on my list is a zoom but Ill probably get a Tamron to save on money right now. Then Ill get a macro!

  4. Let me know how do you like the 35 mm. So glad you ordered one! Isn't it nice when getting something new to add to our photography bag? I heard that the Sigma 70-200 mm is a good buy for zoom. A friend from town whose photos are amazing got it for Christmas and she loves it. Which zoom are you thinking of buying? Another professional photographer in town told me he loves his macro lenses for portraits!!! I wish when I rented one I had tried portraits with it. It was so hard to get things in focus on little things even when using the tripod....
